Deputy Finance Director
Adam Martin is seeking a highly motivated and organized Deputy Finance Director to lead fundraising efforts for a competitive red-to-blue congressional race in Oklahoma’s First Congressional District. The role will be responsible for working with senior staff and consultants to build a robust network of thousands of grassroots donors to raise a $1+ million budget. The Deputy Finance Director will report directly to the Campaign Manager and will be responsible for a robust call time program. The campaign to represent the district will center on one key goal – defeating Kevin Hern – but play out in two phases. The first part of the race will involve emerging from the Democratic Primary on June 28, 2022. The second will involve a dead sprint over four months to send Kevin packing.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Consistently achieve and exceed fundraising goals

Work with the candidate, senior staff, and consultants to craft and execute a strategic fundraising plan with measurable goals and benchmarks

Maintain financial documents (finance plan, tracking documents) and database

Building and managing small dollar fundraising events

Staffing the candidate at fundraising events as needed
-
Oversee fundraising events from formation to execution with assistance from senior staff, consultants, and volunteers

Staffing during call time

Preparing call sheets for call time using prospects, resolicits, and targets

Evaluating the success of the call time program, working with leadership to optimize call time strategy

Manage and expand email fundraising program

Meticulously maintain detailed records of contacts, pledges, and contributions and keep our donor database up-to-date and clean

Ensure donors are thanked in an appropriate and timely manner

Conducting donor follow-up including chase calls and thank you notes

Oversee donor vetting, prospecting, and research operations

Ensure all campaign finance reporting requirements are met

Work closely with compliance staff and consultants
The Ideal Candidate

A commitment to progressive Democratic politics

2+ years in either political or non-profit work, with experience or a working knowledge of fundraising strategies

Familiarity with donor database systems and ActBlue
-
Strong written and oral communication skills

Must be a self-starter

Strong project management skills

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Engaging, upbeat personality who can rally others to give their all

A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Willing to relocate to the Tulsa, OK area, and travel throughout the district (multi-county)

Experience crafting a finance plan including major donors, PACS, digital, call-time, event, and direct amil fundraising (or some combination of most of these components)

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Docs
